Mr. Hanson co-founded EQ Capital Strategies in 2016 and serves as its Managing Member. EQ Capital provides sell-side advisory services to business owners, and buy-side target identification and advisory services to private equity, corporate buyers and high net worth individuals with a focus on healthcare, environmental and business service segments.
Prior to founding EQ Capital, Ben served as the Chief Administrative and Strategy Officer for Senior Care Centers, LLC, following the completion of its acquisition of Harden Healthcare’s Long-Term Care Division in 2015.
Prior to that acquisition, Mr. Hanson served in numerous roles at Harden Healthcare, a leading senior healthcare services provider, including Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and led the corporate development efforts of the company.
Mr. Hanson previously served as the General Counsel and Secretary of DMX Holdings, Inc, and was primarily responsible for shepherding the proposed merger of DMX with its largest competitor. Mr. Hanson is also on the Board of Directors and serves as the COO of Correctional Food Services, a family owned and operated enterprise.
Mr. Hanson graduated after three years from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Plan II Honors and Government, and obtained his law degree from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University
Mr. Hanson currently serves as the Presiding Officer of the Texas State Cemetery Committee, as an appointee of Governor Greg Abbot. Mr. Hanson has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels and More and its not-for-profit in-home care affiliate in Austin.
